Winifred H. Wolfe, 76, a Silver Springs resident for the past 24 years, died Feb. 10, 2004, at Carson Convalescent Center. She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Burt, N.Y., to Earl and Evis Leach Wheeler.
Before moving to Silver Springs, she lived in Punxsutawney, Pa.
Mrs. Wolfe was a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo and crocheting. She was an active member of the senior center in Silver Springs, assisting with Meals on Wheels, the Stagecoach bingo program and the summer food program for children. She was a Protestant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and brother, Larry Wheeler. Among her survivors are her daughters Eavis Church of Las Vegas and Mary Harkleroad of Mahaffey, Pa.; sons Fred Dunkin of Punxsutaney and Thomas Dunkin of Silver Springs; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Teri Basa of Carson City; brother, Donald Wheeler of Homestead, Fla.; sister, Barbara McDonald of Fallon; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and close friends.
No service is scheduled.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
