Carson City's D.J. Freeman had three goals and an assist to lead the Desert Dogs youth ice hockey team to a 6-1 win over the Stockton Polar Bears last weekend.
The Desert Dogs are comprised of players ages 4-8 form Carson City, Reno, Truckee and Portola. Freeman is an 8-year-old center for the team.
Also for the Desert Dogs, Nick Vellis, Conner Walsh and Zach Korinek all scored one goal. Goalie Tyler Stockdale posted the win..
The Desert Dogs will next play March 6 in Oakland, Calif. Most of the players on the team will play in the NorCal travel hockey league for the Wild Dogs 9-10-year-old team, beginning in August.
