Lorelei 'Lori' Simpson Gabbard

A celebration of life for Lorelei "Lori" Simpson Gabbard, 50, a Carson City resident for the past 24 years, will be at 3 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Gabbard died Feb. 21, 2004, in Carson City. She was born March 4, 1953, in Roswell, N.M., to Vinder Isaac Gabbard and Glenna M. Wehl.

She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1971.

She married Jerry Frances Simpson on Oct. 23, 1976, in Garden Grove, Calif. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1989, in Carson City.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Riverside, Calif.

Mrs. Gabbard was a registration technician for the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father in 1983.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Nicole and Chris Stapp of Orlando, Fla., and Amber and Charles Bloomfield of Carson City; daughter Roxine Simpson of Carson City; mother, Glenna Wehl of Edmond, Okla.; sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Greg Ward of Minden and Debra and Tom Gibbons of Carson City; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Burial will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice of Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
