Two people were arrested early Monday morning allegedly driving away with loot from a Carson City storage unit they're suspected of burglarizing.

Anthony Turner, 38, and Crystal Lynn Garringer, 33, were arrested about 1:45 a.m. Monday after a deputy spotted them loading items into a vehicle at a self-service storage facility in the 2100 block of Lone Mountain Drive.

According to the police report, Deputy Cody Dellabitta said he saw Garringer and Turner "taking items out of a storage unit and loading up a car."

When he and another officer contacted the two, Garringer said "they were just getting some items from the storage unit," Dellabitta wrote in his report.

Nearby, police found a lock that had been cut.

Turner gave deputies the name of the storage unit owner. Paperwork matching that name was found inside the unit, but when the owner was contacted he said he didn't know Turner, Dellabitta said.

Police also allegedly found several small tools, a mini flashlight, pliers, latex and regular gloves and a new bolt cutter with a fresh mark that matched the lock found cut.

Turner was booked on suspicion of felony burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.

Garringer was booked on felony burglary, possession of stolen property, and two misdemeanor warrants.

Bail for each was set at $25,000.

Carson City Sheriff's Lt. Ken Sandage said deputies will attempt to match Garringer and Turner to pawn receipts on file with the department in an attempt to determine if the two have been involved in a recent spate of storage burglaries throughout the city.

Detective Sgt. Bob White said pawn shop owners can help solve a number of burglaries in town.

"If pawn shop owners recognize these individuals and they've pawned property there, please give us a call," he said.
