The Fernley High boys basketball team was able to hold on for a 64-61 win over Dayton on Wednesday at home.
Dayton led 34-33 at halftime, but Fernley came out strong to begin the second half and held off a late Dust Devil rally for the win.
"We didn't come out to answer the bell at the start of the second half," Dayton coach Rob Streeter said.
Adam Diament had a double double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Dayton. "he had a great individual performance," Streeter said.
Ryan Clifford scored 17 points and Shaun Lee and Sam Arrington each had 15 points for Fernley. Ryan Blaver scored 16 points and Matt Bowman added 11 points for Dayton (3-5, 0-1 in the Northern 3A).
