A memorial service for Sylvia Deem, 87, a Mountain View Care Center resident for the past year and Gardnerville resident for the past 28 years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Deem died Dec. 19, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born May 30, 1916, in Ohio, to James J. and Bertha Meyers Eiler.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Monrovia, Calif.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
Among her survivors are her son, Russell of Gardnerville and grandson, Brian of Reno.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
