Carson High's Nick Shine has been nominated to be the Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year in football.
Shine is eligible to be selected as a national Red Zone Player of the Year and be honored in a full page feature in USA Today in February.
Old Spice is recognizing high school football players who go beyond the call of duty, especially in the red zone. The program honors athletes who are able to elevate their play and step up when the heat is on. The athletes are also honored for their leadership, performance and desire and the example they set for their teammates on and off the field.
Shine was an all-Northern 4A first team linebacker this past season, but also played at tight end and on the offensive and defensive lines.
Coaches from across the country nominate a player from their team to be honored. Shine is eligible to be named as one of 50 national Players of the Year.
