A funeral Mass for Marcelle H. Okawa, 85, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Carson City.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Thursday with a rosary at 6 p.m. at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mrs. Okawa died Jan. 16, 2004, at home. She was born Nov. 16, 1918, in Paris to Marcel and Lucienne Lasnier Nicodeau.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Pico Rivera, Calif.
Mrs. Okawa started studying computers at Western Nevada Community College in her 80s. She was a Catholic and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1999; son, Pat; and brother-in-law Kaname.
Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Gene Miner of Menlo Park, Calif.; brothers-in-law Mack Okawa of Arkansas, John Okawa of Montebello, Calif., Chet Okawa of Oceanside, Calif., Kozuchi Okawa of Monterey Park, Calif., and Joe Okawa of Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Tosh Okawa of Carson City; and grandchildren Jarrett, Doneva and Karisa of Menlo Park.
Burial will be in the Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
