A graveside service with military honors for Dale D. Bradley, 80, of Yerington will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home.

Mr. Bradley died Jan. 26, 2004, at home. He was born July 16, 1923, in Fort Bragg, Calif., to Edward and Ora Fae Gillespie (later Niegel) Bradley.

He graduated from Fort Bragg High School.

He married Gwen Thompson on Dec. 5, 1942, in Reno.

Mr. Bradley worked as a sawyer in the lumber industry at many locations and retired from Wetsel Oviatt Lumber Co. in Latrobe, Calif., after 32 years. He and his wife built a home in Mount Aukum, Calif., and one in Yerington. He crafted beautiful furniture and woodwork and could fix almost anything. He was fond of music and played several instruments.

He was a member of the Mason Valley Moose Lodge 2428, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Drytown Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines.

Among his survivors are his wife of Yerington; sons Darrel and Melvin of Fiddletown, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bob Boatwright of Yerington; brother, Brent of Pleasanton, Calif.; sisters June Souza of Four Lakes, Wash., Evelyn Pierroz and Aloha Adams, both of Cool, Calif.; uncle, Jim Gillespie of Cool; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
