Dynamite found at a Stagecoach home was detonated Thursday night by members of the Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad.

The material was found at 7220 Santa Fe Trail, according to Capt. Jeff Page of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Lyon County Sheriff's deputies and firefighters from the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to the home at about 5:40 p.m.

Members of the bomb squad determined that some of the dynamite couldn't be moved and had to be destroyed at the scene.

The rest of the explosives, estimated at 20 pounds, was taken out into the desert and detonated at about 8:30 p.m.
