A service for Deborah "Debbie" K. Barber, 52, a Minden resident for the past five years, will be at 9 a.m. Feb. 7 in Tacoma, Wash.
Mrs. Barber died Jan. 27, 2004, at Washoe Medical Center of pneumonia and breast cancer. She was born Sept. 27, 1951, in Yakima, Wash., to Robert and Martina Wingerter Schlosstein. She was raised in Tacoma, Wash.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Incline Village.
She put herself through nursing school and was a registered nurse for 22 years. She worked at Village Ace Hardware where she was known as "Christmas Deb." She loved the outdoor life and camping and fishing. She was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Among her survivors are her fiance, Steve Klein of Minden; sons Steven Baker and James Schlicting Jr., both of Tacoma; daughter Melinda Lorraine Baker Senna of Nashville, Tenn.; brother Roger Schlosstein of Tacoma; two grandchildren Christopher Schlicting Selk and Dillon Baker, both of Tacoma; and her Aunt Margaret.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
