Four all-star teams from Carson City open District 1 tournament pool play today at Swope Middle School in Reno.
In the 11-12-year-old division, Carson American takes on Carson Valley today at 4. Carson National battles Truckee at 6:30 p.m.
In the 9-10-year-old tourney, Carson American plays South Tahoe at 11 a.m., and Carson National hooks up with Washoe at 1:30 p.m.
Pool play lasts until July 10. The top four finishers in each of the two pools advance to a single-elimination tournament that runs July 11-13.
