Pat Robert Porter

A remembrance of life for Pat Robert Porter, 75, a former Silver Springs resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Silver Springs Firehouse.

Mr. Porter died June 2, 2004, at his home in Debeque, Colo. He was born March 12, 1929, in Hobart, Okla., to Sam and Mattie Helen Frame Porter.

He married O. Faye Hasty June 20, 1952, in Hobart.

Mr. Porter lived in California and worked at Ford Motor Co. as a quality control inspector. After moving to Silver Springs, he owned and operated Porter Excavation for many years. After retiring in 1992, he traveled extensively and moved to Debeque.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Parachute, Colo.

He served with the 245th Tank Battalion of the U.S. National Guard and served in Korea.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

Among his survivors are his wife; sons and daughters-in-law Robert K. and Betty of Grand Junction, Colo., and Michael and Linda and Jack and Sherry, all of Silver Springs; brother, Johnnie of Salton Sea Beach, Calif., and grandchildren David Porter, Karrie Lynn Porter and Katy Irene Porter.

Cremation was held in Colorado.

Burial of his ashes will be at the Desert Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Silver Springs with military honors.
