Inurnment services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on July 8, 2004 at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley for Charles A. Schleicher.
Mr. Schleicher died July 1, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was 81. He had lived in Carson City since 1985.
Mr. Schleicher was born July 20, 1922, in Lake City, Minn., to Arthur Schleicher and Evelyn Scruby.
He went to high school in Gardena, Calif., and graduated from El Camino Community College.
He married Clara Fernyhough on May 17, 1952, in California.
Before moving to Carson City Mr. Schleicher lived in Chatsworth, Calif., for more than 30 years. He worked as a project expediter for Northrop Corp. for 20 years. He also worked for Hughes Aircraft, retiring in 1984.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Schleicher was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church and was active in the men's club there. He loved to ride horses and watch football on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Schleicher's survivors include his wife, Clara; son Curt Schleicher of Fremont, Calif.; daughter Cheryl Johnson of Carson City; sisters Lois Minnitello and Evelyn Cope and five grandchildren.
Cremation and burial will be arranged by Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
