Luise Elizabeth Wells, 69, a Laughlin resident for the past eight years and former Carson City resident, died June 19, 2004. She was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Primasens, Germany.

She was a graduate of the Cordon Bleu Institute and the first woman chef on the train system in Europe.

When living in Carson City, she worked for Gov. Robert List and Gov. Richard Bryan and later owned Luise Restaurant and Catering in Carson City.

She relocated to Las Vegas and then to Laughlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lewis.

Among her survivors are her daughter Alexandra; son-in-law Ron Veeren and grandchildren Cole, Mariah and Dylan.

A service was held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
