A memorial service for Dorothy L. "Dottie" Legere, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mrs. Legere died June 7, 2004, at Mountain Springs Assisted Living. She was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Cumberland, Md., to Cloyd and Elizabeth Sell Shonter.
She married Frederick John Legere Jr., Sept. 30, 1939, in Miami. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Legere was a librarian. She enjoyed bridge, bingo, gardening and the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of St. Teresa.
Among her survivors are her son, Frederick, of Reno; daughter, Linda Green, of Carson City; brother, Richard Shonter of Florida; sisters Eleanor Van Wagoner and Louise Yorra of Florida; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 3264 Goni Road, Suite 151, Carson City, NV 89706; or to any program at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive, Carson City, NV 89706.
