A judge ruled Thursday there is enough evidence to try a 75-year-old Carson City man on charges he molested two children.

Fred Ayers, who was arrested Feb. 4, will remain on an ankle bracelet monitored by the Division of Alternative Sentencing until the trial. No date has been set.

Ayers, who has congestive heart failure, was released from jail in March.

He allegedly molested two young children between September 2002 and October 2003, according to a criminal complaint filed by the District Attorney's Office. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child under 14 years of age.
