The Carson Coyotes Senior Babe Ruth Baseball team continued its strong play against league competition while continuing to struggle against the talented Winnemucca Badgers.
The Coyotes played four games in two days at Governor's Field, playing three games on Monday and another game on Tuesday. On Monday, the Coyotes beat the Douglas Outlaws 8-4. The Coyotes then gave the Badgers all they could handle in two losses, 77-4 and 6-3. On Tuesday the Coyotes lost to the Badgers 11-1. Carson is 11-2 against league competition and 0-5 against the Badgers.
Against the Outlaws, Jack Maloney was the winning pitcher, striking out six in four innings. Josh Camper went 2-for-2 with a double, Jarrod Bone and Brad Breeden each had two hits and Adam Anderson added a hit for Carson.
In the 7-4 loss to the Badgers, Jason Knowles pitched a complete game, striking out nine. Anderson went 3-for-3 with a double, Alex Tanchek doubled twice, Breeden was 2-for-3 with a double, Wes Osmer and Knowles each had two hits and Chris Ames and Aaron James each added a hit.
In the 6-3 loss to the Badgers, Camper pitched a complete game, striking out eight. Knowles doubled twice, Breeden and Osmer each had two hits, Anderson doubled and Ames and Anderson each added a hit.
In the 11-1 loss to the Badgers, Ames doubled and Maloney, Anderson and Kevin Millim all added a hit.
