A funeral service for James Robert Stevens, 64, a 30-year Carson City resident, will be today at 2:30 p.m. at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. Burial will follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Mr. Stevens was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Custer, Okla., to Orvil and Pearl Davis Stevens. He was raised in Oklahoma.
He served for seven years the U.S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Stevens worked for Capitol Drywall for 15 years and for Carson City Jeep and Capitol Ford.
He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and was an avid drag racer.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandscon Nicholas.
Among his survivors are his wife, Christine; son James Brian of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter Jami Stevens of Grass Valley, Calif.; stepchildren Tina and Erik Pavlovich; grandson Brandon; granddaughters Lexi and Maryssa; mother of Coquille, Ore.; sister, Dorothy Powers of Coquille; and brothers LeRoy of Yukon, Okla., Vern and Norvil of Carson City and J.B. of Meadow Vista, Calif.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
