Funeral services have been set for a Dayton man who was killed Sunday in an industrial accident in Mound House, police said Tuesday.

A memorial service for William Garret Watkins, 21, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton, said Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Jeroene Wynands.

Watkins was killed Sunday about 3 p.m. after he was crushed by a piece of equipment at Miles Brothers Construction Inc. on Industrial Parkway in Mound House, Wynands said.

"He was trying to move the equipment into the shop, and we're not exactly sure how it got away from him, but it rolled over on top of him," he said. He described the equipment as having four wheels, a platform and a crane similar to a forklift.

Watkins was last seen by co-workers about 2:55 p.m. and was discovered pinned under the machinery about 3:25 p.m.

He died at the scene, Wynands said.
