An inurnment service for Sammy Wayne Jepson, 65, a Silver Springs resident for the past 17 years, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Jepson died March 5, 2004, in Silver Springs. He was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Long Beach, Calif., to Horace and Oconeta Whitacre Jepson.
He graduated from high school in Las Vegas and attended two years of college.
He married Marjorie Jordan on Oct. 2, 1969, in Reno.
Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived in Sparks after growing up in Las Vegas.
Mr. Jepson was a career military man retiring after 22 years of service in the U.S. Army and serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife of Silver Springs; children Marks Ryan of Charlotte, N.C., Freddie Jepson of Las Vegas, Sammy W. Jepson Jr. and Norman Jepson, both of Colorado and Patrick Derrick of Las Vegas; sister, Karan Vestal of St. George, Utah; and five grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
