Richard Davenport, 60, a Carson City resident for the past two years, died March 6, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Central Falls, R.I., to Arthur and Cecile Lavallee Davenport.

He married Carole Moss.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived at South Lake Tahoe.

He served 13 years in the U.S. Navy. He completed five tours of duty in Vietnam and was on board a ship assisting with the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis. He was a disabled veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed sports and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife, son Scott and daughter Kimberly Butler, all of Carson City; sister, Lillian Wysong of Pawtucket, R.I.; brother, Bruce of Hollywood, Fla.; and grandchildren Ryan Butler and Brandon Davenport.

A private memorial service will be at a later date.
