Eagle Valley

Chris McBroom, Jory McCulley and Andy Hook won championships in their respective weight classes for the Eagle Valley eighth graders at the Fernley tournament Saturday.

Hook won the 120-pound weight class for his first Tah-Nevada League tournament title, while McBroom won at 150 pounds and McCulley at 175 pounds. Brian Halverson placed second at 115 pounds, Lance Cowperthwaite was third in the heavyweight weight class, David Barajas was fourth at 85 pounds and Austin Bitisillie fourth at 150 pounds for Eagle Valley.

In the seventh grade division, Eagle Valley's Michael Little improved his season record to 12-0 by winning at 165 pounds and Michael Ceccarelli captured first-place at 120 pounds. Ceccarelli is a sixth grader.

Luke Carter placed second at 100 pounds, Taelor McDowell second at 165 pounds, Robert Suwe third at 80 pounds, Sam Osheroff third at 95 pounds, Joshua Peacock third at 100 pounds and Nick Bukowy third at 125 pounds, Adam Welch fourth at 85 pounds and Emalie Moorehead fourth fourth at 120 pounds. The place finish was Moorehead's first in a Tah-Neva tournament this season.

Eagle Valley wrestles again Tuesday at Pau-Wa-Lu in Gardnerville.
