A memorial service for Carl Mendoza, 74, an Atascadero, Calif., resident for the past three years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero with Rabbi Jane Simon officiating. An additional memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 27 at Fountainhead Four Square Church in Carson City with the Rev. Louis Locke officiating.
Mr. Mendoza died March 12, 2004, at home.
Before moving to Atascadero, Mr. Mendoza lived in Carson City, where he was a deputy sheriff until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns and his family, and was an avid motorcycle rider.
He lived in Los Angeles from 1960 to 1979 and worked for the Sparkletts Drinking Water Co.
He was preceded in death by his son Patrick Davis.
Among his survivors are his wife, Mary of Atascadero; children Charlotte Lawton of Paso Robles, Calif., Michael Davis of Phoenix, Richard Mendoza of Carson City, Jim Davis of Glendale, Calif., Debra Anne Heller of Templeton, Calif., and Robert Davis of Branson, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
