A memorial service for Joan Baker, 74, a Dayton resident for the past 18 years, will be at her home on May 28.
Mrs. Baker died May 4, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Los Angeles, to Alan and Martha Peterson Somerindyke.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Baker devoted her life to her family, animals and garden.
Among her survivors are her husband, Chuck of Dayton; stepsons Larry Baker of Grants Pass, Ore., Alex Baker of San Miguel, Calif., and Dennis Baker and Bryan Baker, both of Eugene, Ore.; sons George Tomko of Medina, Ohio, and Donald and Allen Tomko, both of Carson City; daughter, Christine Tomko of Carson City; sister, Jean Michaels of Phoenix; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
