A celebration of life for Barbara J. Dye, 61, a Gardnerville resident for the past six years, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at her daughter's home, 990 Desert Drive, Carson City.
Mrs. Dye died May 1, 2004, at her home. She was born June 22, 1942, in Derry, Pa., to John and Mary Yakopowich Skander.
She graduated from Campbell High School in 1961.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in San Jose, Calif. She married Ronald Dye on Oct. 3, 1964, in Reno.
Mrs. Dye was a secretary for Lockheed Aerospace in Palo Alto, Calif. She babysat many children for several years in San Jose. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; daughters Mary Ann Oswald of Carson City and Raylene Perry of Tracy, Calif.; brother, Dick Skander of Derry; sisters Patty Baum of Greensburgh, Pa., Diane Hill and Shirley Skander, both of Derry, Bunny Hill of Latrobe, Pa., Helen Kirk of San Jose, Becky Beebe of Pittsburg, Calif. and Dottie Currie of San Bernardino, Calif. and grandchildren Noah, Daniel and Melissa Perry, Michael Gabriel and Amanda and Brittany Oswald.
Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
