The public is invited to attend an informal luncheon with Carson City candidates Thursday at the Carson Nugget.
The luncheon, sponsored by the Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce, will host candidates for mayor, city supervisors and Assembly District 40. Each candidate will give a 10-minute speech and take questions from the audience.
"We wanted to give the business people and (the public) an opportunity to meet the candidates," said the chamber's Chief Executive Officer Larry Osborne. "It's an opportunity to meet them and make their minds up."
Those featured include Mayor Ray Masayko, former mayor Marv Teixeira, Supervisor Shelly Aldean, supervisor candidate Rebecca Beisenstein, Supervisor Richard Staub, Assemblyman Ron Knecht, R-Carson City, and Assembly District 40 candidate Bonnie Parnell.
The chamber expects about 70 attendees at the event.
The buffet luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. Cost for chamber members is $20 and for non-members is $25. Call the chamber office by Monday at 882-1565 for reservations.
