A Douglas County woman being investigated for the death of her stillborn baby and in jail for methamphetamine use will be allowed to attend the child's funeral, a judge determined Wednesday.
Crystal Moreno, 22, of Douglas County remains in Douglas County jail on $100,000 cash-only bail. She appeared in justice court Wednesday.
Moreno was arrested May 19 on a Douglas County warrant for felony use of a controlled substance after her full-term daughter's still birth.
According to police records, she tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the delivery and admitted to using methamphetamine to investigators.
Carson City Sheriff's Detective Bob Motamenpour said an autopsy May 14 was unable to determine what caused the full-term fetus to die.
It's believed the fetus was dead for at least a week.
Douglas County Justice of the Peace David Gamble granted Moreno's request to attend the baby's funeral today as long as she is accompanied by a deputy from the Department of Alternative Sentencing and she returns to jail following the funeral.
Motamenpour said the homicide investigation hinges on whether or not a toxicology report on the infant reveals it had lethal amounts of drugs in its system.
