The Toiyabe Soccer League's Mini-Tournament is scheduled for today at the Edmonds Sports Complex on fields 8-10.
The Toiyabe League is a Spring competitive and developmental soccer league for players 12 and under from Carson City, Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe, Mammoth, and Bishop. The league currently consists of 30 AYSO teams and more than 400 players from these areas, and is administered by Capital Soccer Club of Carson City in conjunction with the American Youth Soccer Organization. This weekend's tournament features 16 10 and under teams and marks the end of the regular Spring season for this age group. League awards for the U10s will be presented at 1:00 pm. The recipients are as follows:
U10 Girls Developmental: First place - Da Bratz, Bishop; sportsmanship, Green Goblins, Incline Village; referee appreciation - Todd Lowe, Incline Village.
U10 Girls Competitive: First place - Net Rippers, Carson Valley; second place, Madness, Carson City; sportsmanship - Comets, Carson City; referee appreciation - Eric Inbar, Carson City.
U10 Boys Developmental: First place - Blue Ice, South Lake Tahoe; sportsmanship - Vipers, Carson Valley; referee appreciation - Harold Singer, South Lake Tahoe
U10 Boys Competitive: First place - Thunder, South Lake Tahoe; second place, Carson Valley Earthquakes, Carson City Scalawags (to be decided in mini-tournament); sportsmanship - Tahoe Too, Incline Village and Tahoe City; referee appreciation - Robin Pawley, Carson City.
