The sentencing for a Gardnerville Ranchos woman who admitted stealing $675,000 in casino chips was delayed a week because her attorney had a scheduling conflict.
Patricia Diaz, 47, will be sentenced June 3 for taking the money in $500 chips from Harrah's Lake Tahoe.
Diaz did not appear Tuesday in District Court as scheduled because of the change. Diaz will be sentenced for felony grand theft, punishable by one to 20 years in prison.
Investigators arrested her May 1, 2003. She is believed to have pocketed the chips while she worked at a gaming table at the casino. The woman cashing in the chips turned out to be Diaz' daughter, according to the justice court file.
