Galena graduate Baxter is honored

Galena High graduate Annie Baxter has made the Academic all-District VIII second team for the University of Nevada women's soccer team.

It's the second straight year that Baxter, a junior, has made the team which covers Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and British Columbia.

This year, Baxter led the team with five goals and added two assists to finish with 12 points. Baxter carries a 3.93 grade point average in elementary education and special education.
