A memorial service for Marie Johnson, 64, a Carson City resident for the past six years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Capital Christian Center.
Ms. Johnson died Nov. 4, 2004. She was born March 21, 1940 in Salinas, Calif., to Herbert and Beulah Dawson Matthews.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived at South Lake Tahoe.
Ms. Johnson enjoyed making dolls and also making dolls for sick children, crafts and spending time with her family.
She was an artist, a volunteer assisting seniors and attended Capital Christian Center.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Johnson Jr. in 1977.
Among her survivors are her daughters Elizabeth Wernsdorfer, Debora Johnson, Margie Benitez and Candy Koetsier, all of Carson City; sister, Linda Goddard of Merced, Calif.; brothers David Matthews, of Boise, Idaho, and Ralph Matthews of Merced; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
