A celebration of life for Frederick Sylvia, 76, a Dayton resident for the past 25 years, will be from 1:30-5 p.m. Sunday at the Dayton Community Center.
Mr. Sylvia died Nov. 4, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Providence, R.I., to Frank and Mary Perry Sylvia.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived at South Lake Tahoe, coming from Hayward, Calif.
Mr. Sylvia retired in 1985 after a truck-driving accident. He was employed by Nevada Western Concrete.
He enjoyed auto racing, camping, fishing, gardening and visiting with his friends.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marine during World War II.
Among his survivors are his brothers Frank of Carson City and Joe of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
