A celebration of life for Robert "Mad Dog" Marvel, 65, a Dayton resident for the past 10 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mr. Marvel died Oct. 28, 2004, at Evergreen Care Center. He was born May 22, 1939, in Wheatcroft, Ky., to Thomas and Nina Wallace Marvel.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Concord, Calif.
Mr. Marvel was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 3. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 53 in Carson City, and E. Clampus Vitus James Marshall Chapter and an associate member of Snowshoe Thompson and Julia Bulette E. Clampus Vitus chapters.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy and his friends.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife, Janie of Dayton; son, Rickey L. of Mortons Gap, Ky.; stepson, Marty Banta of Carson City; daughter, Nina Caudel of Carson City; brothers Richard of Providence. Ky., and Dwight of Clay, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
