A memorial service for Peggy Hulbert, 88, a longtime Carson Valley resident, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.
Mrs. Hulbert died Nov. 19, 2004, at Riverview Manor.
She had been a resident of Carson Valley for 56 years. She and her husband, Noel, operated Tahoe Sanitary Service for 36 years at Kings Beach during the summers.
She was a past member of Carson Valley Homemakers, Eastern Star, and Douglas County Historical Society. She was a member of Friends of the Library and a supporter of the 4-H Club.
While living at Lake Tahoe, Mrs. Hulbert was a member of the North Tahoe Soroptimist Club.
The Hulberts were married for 60 years.
After they retired, the Hulberts wintered at Quartzite, Ariz., where they were active with the QIA. They enjoyed making friends and enjoyed learning silversmithing. They enjoyed traveling and were able to visit many locations throughout the world.
Mrs. Hulbert was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Noel and her daughter Jill Shaffer.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Noeleen and Ron Wilcks of Minden; Joan Thran of Gardnerville and Penny and Steve Frost of Phoenix; grandchildren Todd Wilcks, Jan Pratt, Patrick Frost, Paige McGowan, Kelly Cable, Suzy Shaffer and Jeff Thran; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at the Genoa Cemetery.
