A Carson City man caught fondling himself in view of others at Western Nevada Community College will spend weekends in jail for the next six months, a judge determined Tuesday.

"I really want to give you 30 days in jail, but all I'd be doing is punishing your family," District Judge Bill Maddox said to the married father of three, Erin Swezey. "What you did was absolutely devoid of any concern for your family."

According to the arrest report, a woman saw Swezey fondling himself on April 6 in front of a window of the Reynolds Building. She told another person who also witnessed Swezey's behavior.

The two then contacted campus security and Swezey was arrested. He pleaded guilty to the charge of gross misdemeanor indecent exposure. He listed his occupation as computer technician.

Maddox suspended a one-year jail sentence and placed Swezey, who has a 1991 conviction of indecent exposure for flashing a woman at WNCC, on three years' probation.

Among numerous conditions, Swezey is also subject to sex-offender registration, is prohibited from consuming alcohol, cannot have pornography, is subject to a curfew, must undergo counseling and is not allowed to be in the presence of anyone under the age of 18 other than his own children.

Maddox characterized Swezey's behavior as "an extraordinarily abhorrent personality disorder," agreeing with Chief Deputy District Attorney Anne Langer that Swezey is a "danger."

"I'll show concern for your family this time," the judge warned, "But if I see you again, I won't."
