A third person has been arrested in a shooting on Brown Street that left a man critically injured.

Israel Ralla, 22, is being held on suspicion of felony accessory to battery with a deadly weapon, accessory to discharging a firearm at a structure and misdemeanor accessory to discharging a firearm in public.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Ralla, also known as "Muppet," was arrested shortly after shooting-suspect Rigoberto Vega-Aguilar was taken into custody Friday night at a home on Century Drive.

According to Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Bob White, Vega-Aguilar, 23, and shooting victim Caesar Muñoz, 26, exchanged gunfire at the corner of Brown Street and Edmonds Drive on Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m.

Muñoz suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and has not regained consciousness since being taken to Washoe Medical Center by helicopter, family friend Korrina Archuleta said Saturday.

White said Ralla was likely with Vega-Aguilar during the shooting and investigators believe Ralla and Sharon Gomez aided him in fleeing the scene.

Gomez, a 26-year-old Department of Motor Vehicles document processor from Carson City, was arrested at the same time as Vega-Aguilar. She is being held on suspicion of accessory to battery with a deadly weapon, accessory to discharging a firearm at a structure, and misdemeanor accessory to discharging a firearm in public. All three are being held on $250,000 bail each.

Ralla was at the center of a 1998 killing in which Sammy Resendiz was beaten to death in a Carson City motel room.

According to court testimony in that case, Ralla had argued with a woman and struck her during a party at the Round House Inn on North Carson Street. The woman then gathered 10 friends and returned to the motel where only Resendiz, two men and a woman remained. Resendiz was beaten to death, Carlos Lainez was injured and Juan Carlos Alegria was unhurt in a back room.

Alegria was killed May 25 in an unrelated shooting on Eighth Street. His suspected killer, Maximiliano Cisneros, 23, has not been apprehended.
