A funeral for Alvin E. Smith, 70, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley with military honors.

Mr. Smith died Nov. 28, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., to Thomas E. and Thelma Jeffries Smith.

He was a high school graduate and attended one year of college.

He married Renonia Richardson July 20, 1970, in Los Angeles.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Riverside, Calif., for 12 years, Los Angeles for 13 years and Cerritos, Calif., for 12 years.

Mr. Smith was a self-employed public accountant.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Among his survivors are his wife and sons Alvin E. Smith Jr. and Alvin E. Jacob Smith and daughter, Angela E. Smith, all of Carson City and daughter, Adria L. Smith, of Tahoe, Calif.; sister, Christine, of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be in the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
