A celebration of life for Gerald Douglas McNees Jr., 49, a Dayton resident for the past seven months and former Carson City resident for 20 years, will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 18, at the family residence, 300 Ziller Way, in Dayton.
Mr. McNees died Nov. 5, 2004, at his home. He was born May 4, 1955, in Maine, to Max and Ella Doak McNees.
He married Julia Ridge Nov. 28, 1985, in Virginia City.
Mr. McNees worked for Rexel Pacific Electrical Co. in Carson City as a warehouse supervisor and for Denny's in Carson City as a cook. He enjoyed fishing, camping and bowling.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father, one niece and one nephew.
Among his survivors are his wife of Dayton; mother of San Bernardino, Calif.; sons Chris Ridge of Fernley, Adam McNees of Dayton and Jerry McNees of San Jose, Calif.; daughters Jenny Studley of Carson City, Melissa McNees of San Jose and Crystal, Deborah and Tiffany McNees, all of Dayton; brothers Brian of Eugene, Ore. and Butch and Tom, both of California; sisters Linda Taylor of Washington and Pearl and Jackie McNees, both of California and grandsons Colden Ridge of Fernley and Jack McNees of Dayton.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
