A Washoe Valley man was arrested on domestic battery charges Wednesday after allegedly holding a son hostage in a back-yard shed.
Hobart Reilly, 50, is being held in the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of two counts of domestic battery.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to 3535 Hawk Drive on a report of a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, Reilly had allegedly barricaded himself and his son in a shed behind the home. After 90 minutes of talking with hostage negotiators, Reilly surrendered.
The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation into whether additional charges will be added.
Reilly's bail is set at $6,314.
