The 2004 application deadline for the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area (MVWMA) controlled goose hunt is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Those applications must be received by that time and date at the Nevada Department of Wildlife headquarters at 1100 Valley Road, Reno Nevada 89512.
The applications must be submitted through the mail.
The forms are available either on line at website www.ndow.org or at select license sales agents.
Participants in that controlled good hunt will be selected during a public on Oct. 27.
There are nine Saturdays involved in that special controlled hunt, starting on Nov. 27 and ending on Jan. 22.
Prospective hunters may apply for up to five Saturdays and may have up to four other hunter's names on the application.
People who draw a permit will notified by mail.
A secondary drawing is then held at 5:15 a.m. on the day of the hunt to determine who will hunt in which pit blinds.
The permit is good for all day and hunters are encouraged to stay the entire day if possible.
For information, call Elmer Bull at MVWMA at (775) 463-2741 during regular business hours.
