Oct. 15-17 (Friday-Sunday: Black Rock Desert.
Leave no trace "training the trainer" backpack.
The BLM is conducting a leave no trace trip in the Black Rock Desert.
Pack into the North Black Rock Range.
Great fall colors.
Participants will be required to provide a 15-20 minute presentation on one of the LNT principles. Information on principles and ideas on how to teach them will be provided.

Trip limit.
No Dogs.
A moderate hike of about 5-7 miles with an elevation gain of 3,000 feet.
Leave Friday afternoon.

Oct. 16 (Saturday): Mt. Rose Wilderness day hike.
Access the wilderness via Thomas Creek.
Park further up to access the trail nearer the wilderness boundary.
A moderate 10 mile hike with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet.
Aspens, willows and pine groves are some of the vegetation we will learn about.
Fall colors should be at their peak.
Conditioned hikers only to take on the high ridges.
Dogs are OK on leashes.

Spooner Summit to Marlette Lake loop dayhike.
Enjoy fall colors in the mountains.
A moderate 7 mile hike with an elevation gain of 1,800 feet.
Learn about the history of the area, including historic logging operations, railroads and flumes.
No dogs.

Prepare for a slow climb to the lookout on all dirt roads, some steep, but nothing technical.
