A funeral service for Franke Shipp Rodriguez, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the C Hill chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on McKay Drive. Viewing will be at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Rodriguez was born March 20, 1919, in Beaver, Utah, to Ernest Alexander and Irene Gale Shipp. She died Oct. 9, 2004.
She was a longtime resident of Carson City before moving to Salt Lake City 10 years ago.
She married Lamond P. Higbee in 1939, and had a son, before divorcing. In 1950, she married Homer Rodriguez, the longtime Carson City assessor, who died in 1985.
She enjoyed reading, loved her family, and was a devoted member of the LDS Church.
Among her survivors are sons and daughters-in-law Calvin and Annette Higbee of Salt Lake City and Michael and Cecily of Reno; daughter and son-in-law, KayCee and Robert Zusman of Granite Bay, Calif.; grandchildren Ben Higbee, Rae Adine Jasso, Vanessa Oswald, Michael Higbee, Alicia Marriott, Chuck Higbee, Amy Kutu, Ethan Higbee, Jared Rodriguez, Danielle Bagley, Logan Rodriguez, Ashley Higgins, JoyceAnn Rodriguez, Janelle Utley, Jacob Zusman; and eight great-grandchildren.
Independent Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
