A funeral for June V. Cockey, 83, a Gardnerville resident for the past eight years, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith with a reception to follow.

Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's.

Another funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Chimes in Inglewood, Calif.

Mrs. Cockey died Oct. 16, 2004, at The Arbors in Sparks.

She was born Jan. 27, 1921, in East Helena, Mont., to John O. and Bertha Goldsworthy McDonald.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Inglewood, Calif.

She married Charles Cockey June 27, 1941.

Mrs. Cockey worked for Montroy Supply Co. in Los Angeles for many years.

She was a member of Job's Daughters and the Carson City Emblem Club 507.

During World War II, she was a driver for the U.S. Army.

She enjoyed water-skiing and water-ski racing in California, Nevada and Arizona. She enjoyed traveling, camping, her motorhome and her three dogs.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville.

Entombment will be at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood.
