Ervin Merz Walrabenstein, 83, a Carson City resident, died Oct. 20, 2004, after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Waukesha, Wis., to Ervin and Lilian Walrabenstein.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and served in Italy and North Africa.
Upon returning to the states, he completed his bachelor degree in electrical engineering at Marquette University.
After graduation, he worked for Boeing Aircraft Company before joining the Hughes Aircraft Co., where he worked for more than 30 years.
After his retirement, he relocated to the Tahoe/Carson area.
Among his survivors are his children Eric and Stacey and three grandchildren.
