A wildland fire that charred about a quarter-acre near Glenbrook on Monday was quickly knocked down thanks to multiple fire units and virtually no wind.
Douglas County fire crews requested help in terms of manpower, firefighting equipment and water from the U.S. Forest Service to aid in fighting the fire, which was reported at about 2:30 p.m. The blaze was near Old Highway 50 and Glenbrook.
