Ellen V. Duffy

A rosary for Ellen V. Duffy, 73, a Minden resident for the past 19 years, will be said at 6 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, Calif.

Mrs. Duffy died Sept. 3, 2004, in Minden. She was born July 21, 1931, in Cambridge, Mass., to Martin and Helen Kelly.

Before moving to Minden, she lived in Long Beach.

Mrs. Duffy was a nurse. She was a Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1990; son Sean in 1989; brother, John Kelly in 1998; and sister, Ann Vanderhoof, in 2002.

Among her survivors are her son Michael, and daughters Kelly Duffy and Johanna Thomas, all of Minden; brother, Rex Vanderhoof of Springfield, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
