Kathleen Burke Neeley died Sept. 14, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a short illness. She was 67.

Mrs. Neeley was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Rose Burke. She graduated from Florida Southern College and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.

She was a flotilla commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Santa Cruz, Calif. She operated a coastal radio station and was a Girl Scout troop leader.

She and her husband, Ralph, sailed out of the Waikiki Yacht Club, Hawaii, before sailing the Caribbean and South Pacific waters. For the past eight years they have lived in the Fiji Islands.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband; sisters Rosemary Rowan and Susan McMillan; brothers Frank Stephen Burke and John Michael Burke; children Roseann Hemphill and Karen Flewelling; grandchildren Katie, Ethan, Jeffrey and Joseph.

Private services are pending.
