I am a candidate for Assembly District 40 because I believe the people of District 40 deserve effective, respectful, responsive representation. I have a passionate belief in representative democracy and define that as listening to and being available to all of my constituents in and out of the legislative session.
My priorities for the upcoming session include:
Healthcare - support efforts to lessen the burden of healthcare costs and expanding access to health-care providers;
Economic Vitality - recruit businesses to our area, provide diligent oversight to the completion of the freeway, oppose any new taxes;
Education - ensure that our schools are accountable and have the resources necessary for academic achievement;
Natural resources - protect water rights, improve our water delivery system, assure the restoration of the Waterfall fire area and continue to oppose the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository.
I have lived in Carson City for the past 28 years and have been involved in public service for much of that time. It was an honor to serve you as the Assemblywoman representing District 40 from 1998-2002, and I would appreciate the opportunity to do so again.
