A funeral service for David Ray Cain, 49, an Elko resident for the last 13 years, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Burns Funeral Home in Elko.

Mr. Cain died April 7, 2005, after a brief illness with cancer. He was born July 8, 1955, in Carson City to Joanne Laird and Robert L. Cain.

Mr. Cain worked for the Nevada Department of Corrections since 1977 and was most recently a lieutenant at the Carlin Conservation Camp.

Among his survivors are his wife, Gloria, and son, Jarrod, both of Elko; step-daughters Laurie Scott of Connecticut and Traci Ghanem of California; grandchildren Shaun Cooper, Heather Harper, Skylar Rauch and Gregory Rauch; mother and step-father Charles Ward of Carson City; sisters Jolene Kuhn and Kamala Carmazzi of Carson City; nieces and nephews Joleesha and Robert Carmazzi and Samantha Kuhn of Carson City; uncle John Laird of McGill and cousins Stacy Laird and Joanie Drahos of McGill.

Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
